Mods for World of Warcraft
There are many wonderfull tools out there that add to the gaming experience. I myself run quite a few each time I play. My wife loves carbonite
With that said I thought I would include a list of my personal favorites, and where to download them from.
First off the site I recommend for downloading these mods is:
http://www.wowinterface.com
These mods are free and are legal! No fear of breaking any rules
Once you are at that site you will probably say WOW (no pun intended) at all the choices and mods they have for practically every aspect of the game. Here is my personal preference to MUST have mods, and a brief description of what they do and offer.
1. FUBAR 3.0 (Fubar is a collection of small apps that rest either at the top of your screen or bottom of screen, they can be dragged and dropped to either. These are the FUBAR apps I recommend.
FUMONEY (FUMONEY keeps track of your money on all chars, and breaksdown how much you spend and earn hourly, daily.)
FUQUEST (Keeps you current on how many quests you are on and lists them in an easy drop down interface)
FULOCATION (Keeps you informed where you are at, What the name of the zone is, Recommended Leveling areas for your level, and Recommended Instances for your level)
FUDURABILITY (Keeps you informed on the durability of your items, and when you go to a repair shop will automatically repair your items for you)
FUGUILD (Keeps you updated on who in the guild is on, and how many members are in the guild)
There are many other FUBAR apps some people like the DPS meter if you like to keep track of what type of damage you are dealing or other people's damage. All a matter of personal preference.
2. Carbonite (this is a quest tracker, and a big help figuring out where to go for quests, and how far away they are. The great thing about it is, it comes with a easily adjustable small map that you can have running that will show you on the map where to go for the quest and where the quest objectives are. It also has a GPS feature built in that will show you how close you are to a particular quest, I love this, my wife loves this. Highly recommend you won't be dissappointed.)
3. Cartographer (This is another map enhancement, works will with the big area map, will remember where you visited and you can easily scroll in and out of a particular area anywhere in the world. Good lil tool works well with carbonite)
4. MobInfo (This is an awesome tool that gives you particular info about a monster, and keeps track of what they drop and the percent rates so you can remember for future reference. Also shows health, xp you will receive from killing monster, and if that monster is related to a quest your on It will show up on there as well, need carbonite for this. All you have to do is just scroll over or click on monster for this info. Must have tool!)
5. TOMTOM (This is a remarkable GPS tool that gives your current coordinates depending on where you are. Ever go to thottbot.com or wowhead.com and they list coordinates to where to go and you have no clue what they are talking about! well this tool will let you know where you are. PLUS if you want to figure out coords for anywhere just open the big area map, Push the "M" key
and scroll over anywhere on the map for the coords to that location. Furthermore you can also have TOMTOM set a way point to any coordinate on the map, and TOMTOM will let you know how far away you are an the estimated arrival time to that coordinate, plus will show you what direction to go. Never get lost again guys!)
6. AUCTIONEER (This tool is probably one of the best in the game I think. This tool will let you know the current market value of any item, and how much it sells for on Auction house. Also when selling items on Auction house this handy tool will let you know the recommended price you should be selling said item for. For those of you who disenchant items then theres a menu with the disenchant values and the items it may disenchant too. Keeps daily, and weekly averages for market value and how many times has been seen at AH since you have had the tool installed. Good way to make money!)
These 6 are my personal favorites that I think NOBODY should be without. Some people like more mods, But I feel with these you get the best of everything without all the clutter.
Installing these mods are simple. Just unzip them and extract them to where your World of warcraft main file is, and put them in the: ADDONS folder (Its the folder after INTERFACE). Once in that folder when you run the game make sure to click on the ADDONS tab at the lower left of charachter selection screen and make sure you enable the mods you want to run by checking them off. Then make sure to check off the tab for: LOAD OUT OF DATE ADDONS then click OK at bottom, and your good to go!
Mix and Match and see what you like, you can disable and enable any mod. Keep in mind that some mods need the help of other mods so if you disable a particular mod that belongs to that mod family then it might not load. You can find out how because it will say: DEPENDENCY DISABLED
Have fun with them! If you have any other personal preference please add them to this post for others enjoyment. If you have any questions with running these mods or need help feel free to ask me here or in game
